From the ‘Let’s Get Into Hot Water’ challenge it was clear how much we all value having hot water at the turn of a tap. However, what if electricity wasn’t available at the flick of a switch or the press of a button? Imagine electricity is only available at certain times, or some appliances were only available at specific times, how would you cope with that? What would be your choice of appliances to be flexible like this with?
Which appliances would you need to be available all the time? What if some appliances were only available during certain periods of the day? Would you be happy to allow a 3rd party (i.e. your energy supplier) to potentially “turn off” certain appliances over the course of the day?
